As we gear up for the exciting Summer of Gaming 2024, it’s one of the most thrilling times of the year for us here at ITSVIRALNOW.COM. This season is packed with jaw-dropping trailers, community events, and announcements that we eagerly anticipate. One event we can’t wait to watch is Jeff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest, which kicks off on June 7th. This festival promises a plethora of new video game announcements, first looks, and captivating trailers, proudly presented by the United States Marine Corps.
Entering its fifth year, Summer Game Fest is steadily taking over E3’s mantle as the premier hub for generating buzz around upcoming games. Last year alone, we were treated to exciting updates on games like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Baldur’s Gate 3. Jeff Keighley’s close ties with the legendary Hideo Kojima have us hoping for deeper insights into what Kojima Productions has in store, such as Overdose, Death Stranding 2, or the PlayStation-exclusive action-espionage game, codenamed “FIT.”
As always, we’re eagerly awaiting any news on Hollow Knight: Silksong. Despite an April Fools’ Day listing on Microsoft’s website, we still have no release date, trailer, or pre-order options for this highly anticipated title. Team Cherry, who first announced the game back in February 2019, continues to keep us in suspense. While we appreciate the meticulous crafting of the game, we can’t help but crave a teaser to satisfy our curiosity.
One of our favorite highlights in the gaming world is the Day of the Devs, a nonprofit event that shines a spotlight on incredible indie titles. From gems like Pacific Drive, Animal Well, Sea of Stars, to Disco Elysium and 12 Minutes, this showcase introduces die-hard indie fans to games they might otherwise miss. This year, the event, founded by iam8bit and Double Fine Productions, will be part of Summer Game Fest, and we can’t wait to see what they have lined up.
In addition to Summer Game Fest, June will also see the launch of our own ITSVIRALNOW.COM Live. This three-day in-person fan event runs from June 7th to 9th in Los Angeles and is a core part of our annual Summer of Gaming celebration, which has been held digitally since 2020. ITSVIRALNOW.COM Live will feature world-class talent, exciting parties, and exhibitors showcasing the latest in games and entertainment. Plus, a portion of ticket sales will benefit charity through a partnership with Humble Bundle.
